AUTHORIZED DPS TESTING
We will be doing Authorized DPS Testing every Saturday at 11:00 am at our Tomball location unless specified. It is first come first serve. Check out the DPS tab for details of what is needed to test.
ALL VISITS TO DPS REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT. WALK-UPS ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED.
BE SURE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT WITH DPS TO TURN IN YOUR PAPERWORK AFTER TESTING.
All appointments with DPS are required to be set up online. Walk-ups are no longer allowed. Their website is www.dps.texas.gov

WHAT TO BRING ON THE DAY OF YOUR AUTHORIZED DPS TEST
- VALID Driving permit. (For teen drivers, testing can only be done after the MUST HOLD date on the back of the permit. If you bring the paper copy of your permit, your picture must be on it.)
- Impact video certificate (see below for instructions on how to get this).
- If you did NOT go to Tomball Driving School, bring the D-964 certificate from the other school that is FOR DRIVERS LICENSE ONLY. (If you did Parent Taught the control number on the certificate will start with PT, if you have a control number with DEE, you will have to have transferred to a driving school for the required 7 drive times)
- You must bring the 30 Hour Parent Log. (a copy is available on the Teen Drivers Ed tab)
- Testing fee (call the office for more information).
How to Watch the DPS Impact Video
- Click on the image. It will take you to the IMPACT website.
- Register for an account.
- If you took drivers ed as a teen, you must choose the blue teen certificate. If you took the adult course, choose the red adult certificate. Click on Register. Fill out he required information. On Drivers Education Type, choose Licensed. The school code for teens is Tomball Driving School is C3216. The adults must use TEXAS Department of Public Safety - DPS. The lessons will pop up and you will begin watching videos. DO NOT try to fast forward or you will be kicked out and have to start over. Once you have finished, print certificate.
